A Preliminary Investigation into"Junzheng"of the Han Dynasty

Junzheng was judicial official in the army which originated in the later stage of Spring and Autumn period. It began to be a formal system in the Han Dynasty that Junzheng executed military law in the army . At that time, the post of Junzheng was set up in NanJun and BeiJun which guarded the capital, and in the office of the commanding gengeral of other army with great judicial power and special status. Junzheng was normally nominated by the emperor and thus trusted by him and sometimes carried out some other important duties when necessary. The successful system of Junzheng executing military law in the Han dynasty had a huge influence on the army construction thereafter.
