Determination of Inorganic Anions in Water with the Method of Ion Chromatography

Abstract

[Objective] The content of eight kinds of inorganic anions: F-,Cl-,NO2-,Br-,NO3-,PO43-,SO32-and SO42-in the environmental water such as drinking water,surface water,rainwater and slush,sewage and so on was determined.[Method] The content of anions in the sample from environmental water was tested with the method of ion chromatography.6.0 mmol/L Na2CO3 and 5.0 mmol/L NaHCO3 were adopted as eluent solution,and the analysis of one testing sample of 25 μl could be done within 17 minutes in IonPac AS14A analytical column(250 mm×4 mm) and an ASRS-ULTRA II(4 mm) anion self-regenerating suppressor.[Result] Six anions: F-,Cl-,NO2-,NO3-,PO43-and SO42-,could be detected in environmental water and other twos was not found in testing sample.The detection limit of eight anions was 6.3-28.3 μg/L,the recovery was 90.0%-110.0% and the RSD was less than 4%.[Conclusion] The method was rapid,accurate and with simple pretreatment,which could completely meet the demand of the analysis for anions in environmental water.
