On ZHU Xi's Thinking of Laoism

Although he always considered the thinking of Confucian school an orthodox one,as an all-round Confucian scholar of idealist philosophy of Song Dynasty,ZHU Xi also had a deep study into the thinking of Taoist school.This article analyzes ZHU Xi's thinking of Laoism from four aspects: the understanding and comment of Lao Zi;LAO Zi and his elucidation;ZHU Xi's philosophy and Lao Zi,so as to emphasize the theoretical vigor of Laoism,and further make clear the important role of the thinking of Taoist school in the philosophical system of ZHU Xi.
