Abstract

The paper studies the influence of the rainfall and the reservoir water level to landslide deformation based on the monitoring datas of the rainfall, the reservoir water level and the displacement dates by GPS of a certain landslide in the Three Gorges reservoir area for about 5-year.The outcomes show that the rainfall infiltration increases the weight of slide mass, softens the rock mass, lubricates the contact face of slide zone and slide bed and decreases the stability of landslide;usually the increase of reservoir water level would not have notable unfavorable effects to the stability of landslide, but the decrease will speed up landslide deformation; The influence of the two facors above to landslide deformation shows hysteresis effect, and the lag period is about 5~6 days.
