Abstract
Flannery O’Conner,the American Southern woman writer,has aroused the concern of many scholars for her deep understanding of religious subject.However,by careful analysis of the characters in her works,it is not difficult to find most of the characters are abnormal.Taking A Good Man Is Hard to Find as an example,this paper intends to employ Freudian theory of human psyche to analyze the personality of several important characters,their respective conflicts among id,ego and superego in the plot development as well as the reason of their abnormal psyche.The paper tries to explore the thematic meaning from a new aspect.
