Several very influential poets formed Auden Generation: W.H.Auden, Stephen Spender and C.Day Lewis.Auden was the best craftsman.Who's Who is one of his masterpieces.The inner conflict of psyche is the main thread to know the meaning of this poem.According to Freud,psyche can be divided into id,ego and superego.Id was dominated by pleasure principle;ego was dominated by reality principle while superego was in accordance with perfection principle.The main character in Who's Who has contradictions between ego and superego,so the conflict is inevitable.This poem is meaningful to the modern men: modern men faced with great pressure;they have to balance the relationship between id and superego to have healthy psyche.
