Abstract

Based on oceanographic survey in the offshore water of the northern Zhejiang during spring of 2007,Zooplankton composition, abundance, dominant species, biomass and biodiversity in this area were studied. The zooplankton community structure was analyzed through multivariate analysis method(PRIMER 5).As a result,a total of 74 zooplankton species(including 12 pelagic larvae) were identified during this surveys, and 2 dominant species were found,Muggiaea atlantica and Calanus sinicus. The distribution of biomass and abundance were similar, both of them showed that zooplankton mainly distributed in the east and south-east of investigation area, and it also increased from northwest towards southeast. The zooplankton biological diversity in the surveyed area was quite few.The mean Shannon-Weiner Diversity was 1.54.The zooplankton in the surveyed area could be divided into 2 ecotypes: CommunityⅠ estuary brackish-water species,CommunityⅡwarm-temperate offshore species.
