Abstract

The effect of fermentation conditions on biogas production and constituents of fermentation residue was studied for mesophilic and dry anaerobic fermentation of wheat straw. The result showed that biogas production and methane content were improved while the amount of inoculums was increased, but biogas production of per total solid mass and methane production of per total solid mass were reduced with too much amount of inoculum. The best fermentation condition of wheat straw dry anaerobic fermentation was obtained: total solid content of fermentation material was 25%,straw-residues ratio was 1∶ 10,and under this condition fermentation residue contained enough nutrient substances and could be processed into good organic fertilizers while getting a high biogas production.
