Abstract
The optimal technological conditions for synthesis of 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl -trimethylammonium chloride(CHPTMAC) were found. Thus, molar ratio of epichlorohydin to trimethylammonium chloride was 0.95,initial pH of the reaction mixture was 7.5-8.0,reaction temperature was controlled at 10 ℃ and then at 35 ℃,and suitable catalyst was added.Besides, steam distillation was applied for purifying the product.Qualified product was obtained, containing 69% CHPTMAC,with impurities epichlorohydrin≤0.0005%and 1,3-dichloro-2-propanol≤0.0015%.
