Comparative Analysis between the Traditional Realism and the Structural Realism

Abstract

Being the typical theory in the field of the international politics,realism is the one of two traditional theories in the international relations.Its idea resource can be traced to the year of BC 2400.The time from the end of the World War Ⅱ to the sixties of the twenty century was florescence for the traditional realism,which had been the practical guide for many countries to analyze the situation of the world and to formulate the foreign policy.After the sixties,with the development of all countries and the changes of the world situation and the continuous strength of the trend of the globalization,scholars of the realism school try to research all kinds of issues and their internal contacts in the fields of international politics and international relations from the new angle of view and by the new method.There came into being the structural realism which either contacts the traditional realism or distinguishes it.This article will compare the producing background,content,characteristic,and the researching method of both theories for the new realism and the old one.
