Comments on Excavation Methods of Passenger-dedicated Railway Tunnels with Large Cross-sections

On basis of summarizing the experience in the construction of the passenger-dedicated railway tunnels in China,the authors present the technical features of the construction the large cross-section tunnels and the selection of the excavation methods for the tunnels.Taking the construction of the tunnels on Hefei～Wuhan passenger-dedicated railway as case histories,the authors furthermore probe into the tunnel excavation methods.The paper can provide reference for the construction of large cross-section tunnels in the future.
