Abstract

[Objective]To compare the effect of nasal endoscopic adenoidectomy by mouth and conventional adenoidectomy.[Methods]From May 2006 to October 2009 in our hospital,49 cases of adenoidal hypertrophy were randomly divided into two groups,24 patients of control group treated with conventional adenoidectomy,25 patients of observation group treated with nasal endoscopic adenoidectomy by mouth, the clinical results of two groups were compared.[Results]The total effective rate of the observed group was 96.0%,slightly higher than 91.7% of the control group, the difference was not statistically significant(P﹥0.05);in observation group, the blood loss was significantly less than the control group and the hospital stay was significantly shorter than the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P﹤0.05);the complication rate of observation group was 3.1%,significantly lower than 29.2% of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P﹤0.05).[Conclusion]Nasal endoscopic adenoidectomy by mouth in the treatment of adenoidal hypertrophy has satisfactory curative effect, could reduce the incidence of complications and is conducive to the rehabilitation of patients,it is worthy for popularizing.
