Abstract

OBJECTIVE To compare efficacy of endoscopic adenoidectomy surgery and conventional adenoidectomy.METHODS 72 patients were treated with adenoidal hypertrophy from January 1,2010 to December 31,2010 in our hospital, and according to the different treatment modalities, they were divided into endoscopic group and conventional group, wherein the endoscopic group 40 cases, traditional group 32 cases.Taken the form of a follow-up after 1 months,12 months and 24 months in three stages as a retrospective analysis, validation was taken in patients with nasopharyngeal CT and fibre nasopharyngoscope.RESULTS The operation time was shorter and blood loss was less in nasal endoscopy group than the traditional group, there was significant difference between two groups(P﹤0.05).1 months after the operation, cure rate of endoscopic and traditional group reached 97.3% and 96.9%,the differences between the two groups was not statistically significant(P﹥0.05);after 12 months of operation, treatment efficiency in endoscopic and traditional groups were 94.2% and 85.7%,the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P﹤0.05);24 months after the operation, treatment effects of two groups were respectively 90.7% and 71.4%,the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P﹤0.01).CONCLUSION Compared with the traditional method, electric cutting operation of nasal endoscopic adenoidectomy is more complete, and as photopic operation, therefore excision is more intuitive and clear.
