Abstract

Objective: To investigate the clinical significance of variation of serum adiponectin in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods: Serum adiponectin and sICAM-1were measured by Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) in59 patients with CHD, and compared with 20 healthy subjects. Results: Serum concentration of adiponectin in patients with AMI were significantly lower than in paitents with SAP and normals(P0.05)while Serum concentration of sICAM-1 in patients with AMI were significantly elevated than in paitents with SAP and normals(P0.05). adiponectin correlated negatively with sICAM-1(r=-0.295,P0.05). Conclusion: The variation of serum adiponectin and sICAM-1in patients with CHD reflect the stability of the atherosclerotic plaque. Detecting of serum adiponectin and sICAM-1is great value to the diagnosis, treatment and progonosis of CHD.
