Abstract
Ballads are a kind of literature in dialect.There existed a lot of phonetic data in modern Shaanxi ballads,which are excellent materials for the study of Shaanxi dialect.On the basis of Annotations to a Collection of Modern Shaanxi Ballads as well as part of Shaanxi ballads in Ballads’Weekly published in the period of the Republic of China,the discussion is made up of two parts,one being combination and disintegration of syllablesand the other beingthe pronunciation changes of initials and finalsto shed light on the dialectal pronunciation phenomenon reflected in modern Shaanxi ballads.
