Abstract

By means of sexual cross followed by successive backcrosses between a dominant genic male sterile genotype and the polima cytoplasmic male sterile line,the dominant gene for genic male sterility in rape (Brassica napus L.) was incorporated into a genotype with the polima cytoplasmic male sterility, resulting in a dominant genic+cytoplasmic male sterile line.The genetic constitution of the new male sterile line and its significance in the utilizaion of heterosis and the study of its mechanism are discussed.
