Abstract
Objective To evaluate the feasibility of nucleic acid amplification test(NAT) for blood donations in blood blank.Methods Individual plasma samples serologically negative for HBsAg,Anti-HCV,Anti-HIV and ALT were pooled according to the size of 48×50μL.HBV DNA,HCV RNA and HIV-1 RNA in pooled samples were detected by Roche Cobas AmpliScreen, and the samples in positive pooled samples were further tested again.Results 10 of 70 953 donations for HBV DNA were positive tested by NAT,but all samples for HCV RNA or HIV-1 RNA were negative.Conclusion It is feasible to incorporate NAT into blood-donation-screening for HBA DNA,HCV RNA and HIV-1 RNA,NAT will further increase the safety of blood supply.
