Short-term effect of Silybin in capsule and ~(131)I treatment in Graves patients with liver damage

Objective To evaluate the short-term efficacy of Silybin and 131I treatments in Graves patients with liver damage.Methods A total of 37 Graves patients with liver damage were given Silybin and 131I therapy,The changes of hepatic functions(ALT,AST,ALP) ware studied Before treatment,after treatment 2 weeks,1 month,2 months,3 months and 6 months.Results Compared with before treatment,the hepatic functions(ALT,AST,ALP) after treatment 2 weeks,1 month,2 months,3 months and 6 months were significantly decreased(P0.01).After 2 months treatment,28(75.7%) patient's hepatic functions were normal,9(75.7%) patient's hepatic functions were significantly Improved.22(59.4%) patients were cured after 6months,8(21.3%) patients were partially remitted,7(18.9%) patients showed hypothyroidism;after 6 months treatment,37(100%) patient's hepatic functions were normal.Conclusions Silybin and 131I I treatment is highly effective and safe for Graves patients with liver damage;Silybin can significantly improved the hepatic functions of Graves patients with liver damage.
