Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of continuous lumbar citern draiage of cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)on patients with traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage(tSAH).Methods 238 patients with tSAH were randomized into control group(n=122) and treatment group(n=116).Patients in the control group underwent lumbar puncture, and patients in the treatment group received continuous lumbar cistern drainage. Results Time of red blood cells(RBC) in CSF100×10 6/L was(5.2±2.6) and (7.3±3.8)days in treatment group and control group,respectively(P0.01),and time of total protein(TP) in CSF0.8g/L was (8.4±3.8) and,(11.6±4.6) days respectively(P0.01).Compared with the control group, the average intracranial pressure(ICP) and the amount of mannitol were remarkably lower, headache and neck rigidity restored more quickly, and hydrocephalus and cerebral infarction and mortality declined significantly. Conclusion Continuous lumbar cistern drainage promptly can relieve clinical symptoms, reduce complications.
