Abstract

Objective To explore the curative effect of the treatment of negative flow of substituting cerebrospiral fluid and intrathecal injection on the tuberculous cephalomeningitis in medium or late stage. Methods Sixty-two cases of tuberculous cephalomeningitis in medium or late stage were randomly divided into the treatment group(32cases) and the control group(30 cases). Both group received the 3HRZE(S) /9HRE treatment, while the treatment group were also treated by negative flow of substituting cerebrospiral fluid and intrathecal injection, then comparision were made between the two groups by the end of 6 months. Results There were significant difference between the two groups in the reduction rate of protein, leukocyte and the pressure of cerebrospiral fluid(P0.01).The total effective rate was 90.62% in the treatment group, and that was 66.67% in the control group, there was significant difference between the two groups(P0.01).No complications and obvious adverse reactions were observed in the process of substituting cerebrospiral fluid and intrathecal injection. Conclusions The treatment of negative flow of substituting cerebrospiral fluid and intrathecal injection on the tuberculous cephalomeningitis in medium or late stage is safe and more effective than simple chemotherapy,it is worthwhile that the clinical application should be approached extensively.
