Wang Gu,a comparatively excellent Character of the Wangs family in San Huai,was a high official in the Ministry of Revenue in feudal China.He was incorrupt in politics and upright in humanness.Although his life time was full of frustrations,he was consistent in his political view.As his political attitudes were quite close to those of Sima Guang,Wang Gu was finally regarded as a member of Yuan You party and was banished from the court until his death.At that time,he had truck with many bookmen and scholars,especially his care for Su Shi,which enabled Su Shi to live safely through his whole life in such an inclement environment in Huizhou.
