Abstract

Experiment was conducted with 10-year-old pot-cultured red Fuji apple trees for studying the effects of soil water content on the photosynthetic characteristics. The results showed that: the soil water content declined, photosynthetic rate(Pn),transpiration rate(Tr) and stomatal conductance(Gs) were declined accordingly, while the intercellular CO2 concentration(Ci) ascended gradually.Reduced water irrigation quantity on some extent had little effect on photosynthesis characteristics;the peak value of photosynthetic rate of 80% water irrigation quantity was 93.4% compared with control.
