Abstract

This paper studies the appellation、type、density and scale of villages in the Tang Dynasty according to travel notes in Tang Dynasty for learning Buddhism by Yuanren. Villages in the Tang Dynasty were named after village、shop、Manor. They were divided into many types according to different standards. In the Tang dynasty distance between two villages was 27KM or over 27KM.There were 30-40 households in one village.
