Effective observation of dexamethasone combined with droperidol for preventing nausea and vomiting after laparoscopic operation

Abstract

Objective:To compare the effects of dexamethasone, droperidol,dexamethasone plus droperidol,normal saline for preenting nausea and vomiting after laparoscopic operation. Medthods:The patients were randomly divided into 4 groups,30 cases in each roup. GroupⅠ was given intravenous dexamethasone 10 mg,groupⅡ was given droperidol 2.5 mg,group Ⅲ received dexamethasone 10 g plus droperidol 2.5 mg,and group Ⅳ received dexamethasone plus normal saline as control. To observe nausea and vomiting,fever nd scores of Words Descriptive Scale in the patients after laparoscopic operation. Results:GroupⅠwas helpful to decrease postoperative ever. Nausea and vomiting were reduced in group Ⅱ(P0.05). The fever rate,scores of Words Descriptive Scale and vomiting times obviusly decreased in group Ⅲ(P0.05). Conclusion:Dexamethasone combined with droperidol is remarkably effective in preventing postoprative nausea and vomiting and reducing the postoperative body temperature.
