Abstract
After reviewing the history of virtual machine technology,this paper introduced the advantages and characteristics of VMM,summarized its architecture and taxonomy,analyzed logical modules in the VMM,and then described the VMM implementation technology in the aspects of CPU,memory,I/O and hardware support.Finally,discussed the opportunities and challenges of future virtual machine technologies based on the current research in academia and industry.
