This paper introduces theory of virtual machine and investigates the challenges of virtual machine design and implementation, including CPU, memory and I/O’s virtualization and live migration of virtual machine, and summaries solutions to these problems. This paper also discusses applications based on virtual machine and prospect of virtual machine.
