Endothelial Progenitor Cells in the Coronary Heart Disease

Abstract

Endothelial progenitor cells is the pro-cell of endothelial cells.In recent years,many studies have confirmed that vascular endothelial progenitor cells(EPCs)can migrate,proliferate and differentiate into mature endothelial cells,which participate not only the embryonic vaseularization,but also the vascular neogenesis after born and repair process after endothelial injury.The recent researches suggested that endothelial progenitor cells should be related to Coronary heart disease closely.EPC prcovides a new ideas for the treatment of coronary.This article reviewed the biological characteristics of endothelial progenitor cells and its connection with coronary heart disease.
