Abstract
Objective To evaluate the associations between carotid intinia-media thickness and coronary artery atherosclerosis assessed by ultrasound. Methods Angiographic results of 93 patients with chest pain were studied, and their carotid IMT were measured by B-mode ultrasound. Results The IMT of the patients with coronary heart disease, hypertension, diabetes mellitus was significantly higher than that of their own control group( P 0.05). Furthermore, the IMT became much higher along with the developing of the coronary artery atherosclerosis. Conclusions IMT and coronary artery atherosclerosis are closely related.IMT is a significant indicator in the clinical course of coronary heart dis-
