Abstract

Objective To investigate the influences of the stress on alveolar bone which was caused by various prosthodontia design for mandibular first molar after hemisection. Methods In four kinds of prosthodontia design models, stress distributions in the remaining sections of the alveolar bone of the mandibular first molar with hemisection models were evaluated. Results The stress values of mandibular first molar's alveolar bone in rigidly fixed bridge design model was much lower than that in free-end fixed bridge(P0.05).There is also significance difference between two kinds of free-end fixed bridge(P0.05).However, no significance difference existed between the two kinds of rigidly fixed bridge(P0.05). Conclusion In clinical application, rigidly fixed bridge should be adopted for mandibular first molar with hemisection.
