Epidemic Situation of Notifiable Communicable Diseases in Haizhu District of Guangzhou in 2006

Objective To analyze the epidemic status of notifiable communicable diseases in Haizhu district of Guangzhou,and provide basis for prevention,control and treatment of communicable diseases.Methods The data of notifiable communicable diseases in Haizhu district in 2006 were collected and analyzed.Results In 2006,a total of 6 907 cases in 21 categories with Type B and C of communicable disease were reported in Haizhu district,Guangzhou with an incidence rate of 775.82/105,and the total reported deaths of infectious diseases were 18 cases with a mortality rate of 2.02/105.No type a communicable disease found.Communicable diseases were mainly composed of the diseases of respiratory tract,intestine,blood and STD.Tuberculosis,infectious diarrhea,influenza,hepatitis B,epidemic mumps,syphilis,gonorrhea and measles were the major types of the diseases.Conclusion More effective control measures for prevention should be taken for the disease of respiratory tract infection,intestine infectious disease,blood infectious disease and STD.The prevention and control work,especially on tuberculosis,viral hepatitis,gonorrhea,syphilis and measles should be streng thened.
