Epidemic trend of notifiable infectious diseases in Yinchuan district of Ningxia from 2004 to 2009

Objective To analyze the epidemic characteristics of notifiable infectious diseases in Yinchuan district from 2004 to 2009,and to provide scientific evidence for the development of communicable disease prevention and control strategies.Methods The descriptive epidemiological analysis was conducted on the data obtained from communicable diseases surveillance from 2004 to 2009.Results A total of 25 class 82846 cases of 18 class B communicable diseases and 7 class C communicable diseases were reported with the average annual morbidity of 909.98/10 million,mortality of 0.21/10 million and case fatality of 0.03% in Yinchuan from 2004 through 2009.Conclusion The main infectious disease were infectious diarrheas,hepatitis B,bacillary dysentery,tuberculosis and mumps.It is necessary to strengthen the prevention and control of common communicable diseases with high incidence and pay close attention to the emerging of novel communicable diseases.
