Liang Qichao's Fiction Translations and the Modern Transformation of Chinese Fictions

Abstract

Two important factors cannot be ignored as far as the modern transformation of Chinese fictions is concerned:one is the self-transformation of Chinese traditional novels,the other is the influence of foreign novels.The influence of foreign novels,to a great extent,can be seen as the influence of fiction translations.The paper,focusing on Liang Qichao's fiction translations,probes into their roles playing in the modern transformation of Chinese fictions from the four aspects of the concept,the type,the narrative mode and the language of fictions.
