Abstract

The historical background at the transition of Qing dynasty and Republic renders it possible for the intellectuals to look back at the traditional culture,and take the enlightenment as a remedy for the restoration of the nation.The universality and unique effects of the fictions inspire Liang Qichao to dwell upon the purpose of the fictions,either for the ordinary readers or ideal readers.The dilemma over the choice results in the inner contradictions of Liang Qichao.
