Stereotactk radiotherapy in advanced pancreatic cancer

Objective:To evaluate the curative effect of stereotactic radiotherapy in pancreatic cancer.Methods: 107 cases with pancreatic cancer treated with stereotactic were analyzed retrospectively radiotherapy from Sept, 2003 to Sept, 2002. The ages of patients were 35 to 86, the mean age was 58.8, and the treatment duration was 6 to 12 according to the tumor size and patient's condition. Fractional dosages were 300 to 600 cGy, total dosages were 3000 to 4200 cGy, the curve of isodose was 50% - 90% .Resolte:The pain alleviating rate was 89.9%. 93 cases of the patients' CT images were checked for 2 - 3 months after the treatment. The images showed the tumor was disappered in 8(8.6%),reduced in 34 (36.5%). The 1 year survival rates were 67.4% . The CEA,CA19-9 results in assay were signally lowered. Conclusion: The stereotactic radiotherapy is safe and effective method to treat pancreatic cancer.
