Abstract

In order to improve dyeability of cotton with reactive dyes, cationization and aminization cotton fabric was carried out with new-salt A pre treatment.FT-IR analysis showed that a lot of amido groups were grafted onto cotton fiber.Optimum pretreatment process was determined as follows:new-salt A 6 g/L,bath ratio 1:20,treating at 80℃for 10 minutes. When modified cotton fabric was dyed in deep shades with reactive dyes, dosage of salt reduced by more than 60%;the shade was almost unchanged;the dyeing properties were improved, such as adsorption rate, reactivity to reactive dyes, dye uptake, fixation rate, soaping fastness and evenness, while rubbing fastness decreased slightly.
