Abstract
Objective To explore the enhancement pattern of breast lesions with contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)and its clinical efficacy in diagnosis of breast cancer. Methods CEUS was performed in 76 patients with 78 breast tumors(47 malignant and 31 benign)with bolus injection of Sonovue. The enhancement phase and enhancement pattern of breast lesions were observed. Results The perfusion course could be identified as early(0-1 min),mid(1-4 min)and late(4-6 min)phases after SonoVue administration. In the early phase,89.36% of malignant tumors showed claw-shaped enhancement, while 88.37% of benign tumors showed homogeneous enhancement. There was a significant difference between the two enhancement patterns(χ2=41.83,P0.01).In the late phase, contrast medium lingered in 89.36% of malignant tumors, while only in 9.68% of the benign tumors, the clearance of contrast medium was helpful in the identification of benign and malignant tumors(χ2=48.59,P0.01).As diagnosis indexes of breast cancer, the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of claw-shaped enhancement in the early phase was 89.36%,83.87% and 87.18%,respectively,while contrast medium lingered in the late phase was 89.36%,90.32% and 89.74%,respectively.Conclusion The enhancement pattern of breast lesion with CEUS is beneficial for diagnosing breast cancer.
