Abstract
Taking the actual project of a university experimental building as an example,the design method of application of seismic energy dissipation technology in buildings with weak-layers is introduced in this paper.Energy dissipation braces provide additional stiffness for compensating the inadequate stiffness of weak layer under normal using and minor earthquake,and it can be used to improve the seismic performance of the building through its energy dissipation capability after yield under large earthquake.The results of design and analysis shown that seismic energy dissipation technology not only ensure the structural safety,but also save the engineering cost.
