Abstract

Dalisi was the special central judicial organ of the Tang Dynasty,trying the law cases of officials above imprisonment instead of those happened in the capital city.Besides,it had the function to try the disputed cases and investigate local cases with the order of the emperor.Not being the supreme central judicial organ,it didn't have the final jurisdiction of imprisonment,exile or death penalty.Thus,the popular academic statements about the functions of Dalisi are the misunderstandings of the original act of the Tang Dynasty.
