Abstract
Historical novels,during the period of May 4th Movement,are the production of May 4th Movement cultural transformation and historical viewpoint revolution.At that time,its theoretical construction of the historical novels grasps the key of the relationship between and novel,and its writing practice redisplays history and historic figures with the modern consciousness,which reflected essential differences between ancient novels and modern ones,showed broad artistic space of the writing of historical novels,and accumulated precious experiences,which can be borrowed,for Chinese modern historical novels with respect for some major problems about the writing of historical novels.
