Meaning construction in a dynamic context

Abstract

Meaning and context are two basic and correlated concepts in pragmatics. The utterance meaning in pragmatics is different from the semantic meaning. In pragmatics the utterance context has to be taken into consideration when the utterance meaning is analyzed. Since the context is dynamic, it is necessary to construct the speaker's meaning in the dynamic context to achieve a better understanding in communication.
