Expression and significance of Bcl-2 in breast cancer with different ER status

Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of Bcl-2 in breast cancer with different ER status.Methods Expression of ER and Bcl-2 was evaluated by immunohistochemical staining in 160 cases of breast cancer.All the cases were divided into two groups(ER-positive group and ER-negative group) according to ER status,and then to analyze the relationship between the expression of Bcl-2 and clinicopathological features in each group.Results In 160 cases of invasive breast cancer,70 cases(43.8%) were ER positive and 74 cases(46.3%) were Bcl-2 positive,and the expression of Bcl-2 was positively correlated with ER.In ER positive group,the expression of Bcl-2 was inversely correlated with lymphatic metastasis and positively correlated with low histological grade and low clinical stage,but in ER negative group,there was no correlation between the expression of Bcl-2 and clinicopathological features.Conclusion There is positive expression of Bcl-2 in breast cancer tissues,which is correlated with clinicopathological features of breast cancer patients.
