Abstract

A simulation model of 4190ZLC 4-stroke marine diesel engine is established by using AVL_BOOST software, and platform experiment is completed under rated operation conditions.Accuracy of the model is verified by the comparison between simulated and experimental results.Influence of compression ratio, starting angle of combustion and valve timing on the performance of diesel engine are discussed with the established AVL_BOOST model. With respect to output power of the diesel engine, optimization calculation of the diesel engine is carried out, with cylinder peak pressure as a constraint condition, and fuel consumption rate as the object of optimization. Results show that performance of the optimized diesel engine is improved to some extent.
