Discussion on 'Modernization' of Salvation in Confucianism——with 'Benevolence' and 'Harmony' as the Examples

Since western material civilization dominated by the modern science and technology and economy,began gradually to get into trouble in modern and contemporary times,the Chinese and western scholars have always been 'pondering' over one good idea-salvation with Confucianism.However,with the increasingly aggravated human crisis,western scholars do not wait for Oriental sage to save them with Confucianism but conduct profound research on the subject of salvation.Compared with their great achievements,the traditional theory of Confucianism salvation fails to catch up.The phenomenon is warning us that,Chinese studies must be 'modernized' and carry out dialogues and communication with the advanced western culture.Otherwise,the dissemination of the Chinese traditional culture may not make much contribution to modern human society but will probably degenerate into empty talk of the professors.
