INVESTIGATION ON THE MENTAL HEALTH STATUS OF COLLEGE STUDENTS IN ENGINEERING UNIVERSITY

[Objective] To explore the mental health status of high-grade engineering students in a University,so as to provide basis for health education among college students. [Methods] By the spirit of symptom checklist(SCL-90) ,238 junior and senior college students were collected in a engineering university,and perform comparison analysis. [Results] The scores of 41 students showed to be equal to or above three of SCL-90,accounted for 17.23%. When compared the different grade students,there was significant different for some factors of SCL-90 factors. The somatization,anxiety,hostility and terror were significantly higher than the national norm among college students,and the nine factors were significantly higher than the national normal. [Conclusion] The mental health status of senior students in engineering high grade showed to be better,but some students have serious mental health problems.
