Abstract
Objective To investigate the curative effect of combined acupuncture and medicine on depression.Methods Ninty-eight depression patients were randomly allocated to two groups.The treatment group of 52 cases was treated with scalp acupuncture and electroacupuncture(Baihui,Shenting,Taichong,Neiguan,Guanyuan,Zusanli and Sanyinjiao) plus Chinese medicine,modified Ease Powder and the control group of 46 cases,only with Chinese medicine,modified Ease Power.Results The total efficacy rate was 94.23% in the treatment group and 78.26% in the control group;there was a significant difference between the two groups(P 0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture plus Chinese medicine has a marked effect on depression.
