On Liu Xie's Opinion about the Influence of Learning on the Formation of Literary Styles

Liu Xie maintained that among the four decisive factors for the formation of literary styles,namely talent,temperament,learning and acquisition,learning is the most crucial in the formation and change of literary styles.He stressed on with purpose so as to develop healthy styles.Liu Xie's remarks on the important role of learning in shaping literary styles have had great influence on the later generations.
