Abstract

On the basis of the study of stylistics by critics and anthologists of former generation,Liu Xie took a big step forward.He discussed all the literary forms of his time with regard to their history,norm,masterpieces and theory in 20 chapters,and then in the chapter of Dingshi he further studied a number of theoretical issues,including the relationship between literary form and style,and the stability and variability of literary form.His conclusions are still useful and beneficial today.
