Human Capital Investment and Economic Growth——Based on the 1997～2010 Provincial Panel Data Analysis in China

According to a production function including health human capital and education human capital. This paper investigates the role of human capital on economic growth in China,using the provincial data during 1997 ~ 2010. From fixed effect panel models,Result shows that the two types of human capital have played active roles on promoting Chinese economic aggregate growth and per capita economic growth. The health human capital has more significant and bigger coefficients. Comparisons among the eastern,central and western regions of China,and quantile regression analysis suggest that,the two types of human capitals have different influences on provinces with different regions and different levels of economic development.
