Abstract

The influence of iron ion on thermal behavior of ammonium nitrate was investigated by an accelerating rate calorimeter(ARC).The results were compared to results of chloride ion,and it shows that the initial decomposition temperature was decreased about 60℃,which is similar with chloride ion.Isothermal conditions experiment also shows the same result accord with ARC.Based on ARC′s data, the most probable mechanism function f(α)=1-α,E=195.41kJ/mol,A=2.08×1019s-1 were obtained according to the most probable mechanism function method. The experiments show that once the iron ion interfuse in the ammonium nitrate, thermal stability will decrease.
