The Ruling Consciousness of Modern Taoism and Its Cultural Significance

Modern new Taoists,in response to modern new Confucians,Buddhists and modern western civilization,are considered to be a group of masters who pioneer for their time and undertake the renaissance of Taoist culture. In this sense,Chen Yinning,struggling to construct the new school of Taoism as many other scholars inherit and develop the ruling consciousness of their own belief,deserves the title of modern pioneer of Taoist culture.Chen,whose greatness ranks with Feng Youlan,a master of new Confucianism,and Taixu,a master of new Buddhism,represents the loudest call to reconstruct Taoist culture and the strongest desire to develop and expand Chinese tradition and Chinese culture.
